Menu from a lunch at Bodegas Beronia in Rioja, Spain, with food made by the resident chef to match Beronia wines:
Chorizo, potato, grilled pepper and morcilla
Riojan vegetable soup
White wine roasted lamb
Vin santo tiramisu
This was an unusual lunch in that it was cooked by the winery’s in-house chef.
The food is rustic in a sort of home-cooked, dinner party style. But it was really flavoursome and went well with the Rioja wines.
I think perhaps the most impressive part was the lamb. Sizeable whole pieces, cooked on the bone with white wine, served in its cooking juices.
